    1. Participants who had been able to delay gratification as children, showed a greater ability to suppress impulse control as adults.
  • 2. There was no significant difference between high delayers and low delayers in terms of reaction time nor, for the go trials , in terms of accuracy.
  • 3. On the no-go trials, low delayers performed less well than the high delayers on the hot tasks.
    Their mean false alarm rate for the hot task was 12.2% and 9.96% for the cool task.
  • 4. The low delayers showed a decrease in performance on the hot trials largely because of their performance with the happy no-go trials.
