  • Resonance is the tendency of a system to vibrate at maximum amplitude at certain frequencies
  • The wave and the object have to be at the natural frequency of the object for the object to vibrate.
  • Multiple systems can vibrate at the same frequency
  • Resonance causes a larger amplitude and intensity of the wave.
  • e.g. Instruments use resonance to sound louder
  • e.g. MRI machines use resonance to make images
