• Linnaeus is known as the father of modern taxonamy
• taxonamy is the study of the distribution of organisms in space and time
• the classification of living things includes 7 things - kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species
• kingdom classification is where the organisms are grouped into the taxonamy. it is ranked above phylum
• two kingdom classification is based on the structure of the organisms and the way they are classified
• The living organisms are divided into 5 kingdoms - Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia, and Monera on the basis of their characteristics such as cell structure, mode of nutrition, mode of reproduction, and body organisation
• Plantae are autotrophic eukaryotes that use photosynthesis to produce food.
• Fungi are heterotrophic eukaryotes that obtain nutrients by absorbing them from organic matter.
• Cells posses nucleus: eukaryotic
• cells dont posses nucleus: prokaryotic
• cells dont posses nucleus : proakryotic
• Animalia are multicellular, hetrotrophic feeder, have nucleus but no cell walls
• plantae are multicellular, autotrophic feeders suing chlorophyll, cells made of cellulose
