Ethical issues

• • Ethical issues- There are 3 main ethical issues that occur in psychological research – deception, lack of informed consent and lack of protection of participants.
• Informed consent Participants must be told the purpose of the investigation (their aims) and about any potential risks they may be subject to when taking part in it. This allows them to make an informed decision on whether they want to participate in the research study. Researchers don’t always wish to disclose this information as it could lead to demand characteristics being presented hence result bias.
