• Bartholomew’s Rule – calculates the estimated age of gestation of a fetus in relation to the height of the fundus

  • Landmarks: Symphysis pubis , umbilicus/navel , Xiphoid process

  * pelvic cavity – below 12 weeks

  * symphysis pubis – 12 weeks

  * bt. Symphysis pubis & umbilicus – 16 weeks

  * level of umbilicus – 20 – 22 weeks

  * just above the umbilicus – 24 – 26 weeks

  * bt. Umbilicus & xiphoid 28 weeks

  * level of xiphoid process – 36-38 weeks

  * below xiphoid process – 40 weeks (lightening)
