  • Composite indicators of development: Considers multiple development indicators and gives a better picture of a countries development level. Better than a single indicator when comparing development between countries
  • Human development index (HDI): Combines figures for - life expectancy at birth, education index and gross national income (in USD $)
  • HDI: Each country given a value between 0 and 1 and HDI can be adjusted to take into account of different wage levels paid to males and females
  • HDI: Countries are classified as having very high, high, medium or low levels of human development
