Moodboard
A pre-production document. Used to collect samples, materials, and a range of relevant content, all to give a 'feel' for what is needed. Features include images, colours, key words, fonts, styles, materials, and fabrics.
Spider diagram
A pre-productiondocument. Used to outline ideas and show links between different aspects and thoughts of a project.
Branch
A feature of spider diagrams. Used to connect ideas together
Node
A feature of spider diagrams. An idea on the spider diagram that is often referred to as the parent idea
Visualisation Diagram
A pre-production document. Shows the layout of something in a visual manner. It shows how a finished item might look.
Annotation
A common feature of pre-production documents. Allows the creator to detail reasons for decisions made or further explain ideas/concepts.
Storyboard
A pre-production document. Provides a visual representation of how a media project will look along a timeline, illustrating a sequence of movements
Scene
A feature of both storyboards and scripts. An individual element/part of a story.
Location
A feature of both storyboards and scripts. Details where the scene is to be filmed/set.
Camera Angle
A feature of both scripts and storyboards. Refers to the position of the camera when the shot is taken.
Close Up
A type of camera angle. The camera focuses on the face of one single character.
Wide Angle
A type of camera angle. The camera shows the whole character with some of their surroundings.
Over the Shoulder
A type of camera angle. The camera points over another character's shoulder.
Camera Movement
A feature of storyboards. Refers to the way the camera moves when a shot is taken.
Scene Number
A feature of storyboards. Details the order in which scenes flow.
Dialogue
Feature of a script. Tells the actors what to say
Client Brief
The project provided by the client that contains all the information and requirements from the client.
Client Requirement
Provides the developer with a clear statement of what needs to be produced, what should be achieved, and any constraints e.g. timescales.
Target Audience
The intended final viewers or consumers of a product or service being created. There are multiple target audience groups (age, gender, occupation, hobbies/interests, location, needs, personality, religion/culture/lifestyle).
Research
The process of investigating into something to establish facts and reach conclusions.
Primary Research
A type of research. The process of gathering information first-hand from a reliable source.
Secondary Research
A type of research. The process of gathering information second-hand where someone else has collected the data.
Work Plan
Outlines all the activities that must take place, scheduling them and allocating timings/deadlines for each.
Timescales
A feature of a work plan. Shows how long we have to complete tasks.
Workflow
A feature of a work plan. Shows how one tasks flows onto the next and so on
Hardware
The physical parts of the computer we can see and touch e.g. keyboard, mouse, graphics tablet.
Software
The applications on the computer used to complete tasks e.g. image editing software, desktop publishing software, word processing software.

Risk Assessment
A document completed to identify, assess, and control hazards in a workplace.
