  • How to create coherence in writing:
    1. begin each paragraph with a clear and concise sentence
    2. Focus only on one point in each paragraph and make sure your topic sentence is clear
    3. Develop your main idea with evidence, examples, experience, or explanations
    4. Use pronouns and synonyms to avoid repetition
    5. Write complex sentences with appropriate punctuation
    6. Link ideas within and between paragraphs with transitional phrases
    7. End paragraphs with a summary sentence that concludes the idea or links it to the next paragraph
