  • Japan is a perfect attraction with centuries-old traditions that overlap with technologies. It is one of the world’s most advanced industrialized nations and boasts a rich history that dates back thousands of years.
  • Mount Fuji is the country’s highest and most beautiful mountain because of its almost perfectly round snow-capped cone.
  • Yakushima Island, Kagoshima, is a remote island home to Yakusugi cedar trees over 1,000 years old, pristine beaches, and Japan’s best sea turtle nesting site.
  • Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji), Kyoto, is a temple with two (2) floors completely covered in gold leaf and was previously the retirement villa of the military dictator of Japan, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu.
  • Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo, is the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing, characterized by its large neon billboards, flashy signs, and noise.
  • Matsuri (Festival). The three (3) famous festivals in Japan are the following: Gion Matsuri, the most famous festival in the country, initially began as a way to appease the gods that cause natural disasters, but now is an event that showcases the beauty of Kyoto’s ancient culture such as traditional music shows, dance performances and spotting a real Geisha (female Japanese performing artists and entertainers) and usually held for the entire month of July.
  • Kanda Matsuri is a week-long festival that happens once every two (2) years that features large parades of people, such as priests riding horses, dancers, and musicians, and mikoshi (small Shinto Shrines) making their way through Tokyo.
  • Tenjin Matsuri is a two (2) day celebration held at the end of July where actors dressed as Japanese mythological characters and performances of traditional music and dance can be witnessed (Asia Highlights, 2023).
