  • Step 1: Measure 25 cm^3 of HCl in a measuring cylinder and add it to a beaker
  • Step 2: Add copper carbonate into the beaker until it is in excess (make sure all acid is reacted)
  • Step 3: Using filter paper and a filter funnel to remove the excess un-reacted copper carbonate
  • Step 4: Use a water bath to gently heat the solution until all liquid had been evaporated
  • Step 5: Collect and dry the crystals left over and weigh the mass of the crystals
