Consumer Rights

• Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980:

  Goods:

  • Goods must be of merchantable quality and last a long time
  • Must be fit for purpose - the goods must do what they should
  • Goods must be as described in an advertisement or brochure
  • Goods must be the same as sample shown in a store

  Services:

  • Must be carried out by someone with necessary skill
  • Carried out with proper care and attention
  • Using materials of merchantable quality
• Consumer Protection Act 2007:

  • We are entitled to the redress - a refund, a repair or a replacement. This is in place when the goods are faulty from beginning or become faulty between purchase date and 6 months
  • Certain / specific information of the product must be mentioned in the product packaging
