Intro to Radiology

• Maudlin - tearful , often weakly emotional
• solicitous - full of fear , concerned , anxious
• accreditation - process that a health care institution , provider, or program undergoes to demonstrate compliance with the standards developed
• Peer Review - characteristics of the program review process conducted by a qualified site visit team and accrediting agency : nongovernmental
• Institutional accreditation - seeks to assess the overall quality and integrity of an institution
• programmatic accreditation - addresses compliance with accreditation standards at the program level .
• The joint review committee on education in radiologic technology evaluates quality and integrity of radiologic technology program
• self-study - report prepared by accredited programs following extensive internal evaluation of all aspects of program operation
• Site Visit - visit during which a JRCERT team is charged with verifying that the self-study report is an accurate portrayal of the programs operation and with evaluating the program's compliance with the established educational standards
• Radiography Curriculum - course of study prepared by the American society of radiology technologist ( ASRT ) used in all radiography programs
• cognitive learning = intellectual process by which knowledge is gained through various methods such as books, class work , judgment reasoning lectures, memory , or perception
• affective learning - related to an individual's feelings and emotions such as joy, sadness, evenness, or natural impulses
• psychomotor learning - muscular action or practical execution of previously learned material that is believed to come from a conscious mental activity
