  • Field experiments are done in the everyday (i.e. real life) environment of the participants, such as a school or the workplace.
    ● The experimenter still manipulates the independent variable (the cause), but in a real-life setting (so cannot really control extraneous variables (variables that can impact the outcome).
    ● Those involved are not aware that they are the subjects of an experiment.
