first class levers have the fulcrum in the middle, examples include flexion and extension of the neck and extension of the elbow
second class levers have the load in the middle for example planterflexion at the ankle
third class levers have the effort in the middl, this includes all other joints and ankle movements like the hip, knee and elbow extension
second class levers have mechanical advantage as the load arm is shorter than the effort arm giving a mechanical advantage for strength. it can generate much large forces and has to life the whole body weight
third class levers have a shorter effort arm than load arm therefore giving them a mechanical disadvantage for speed giving it a large range of movement and any resistance can be moved quickly
