Muscle Contraction

    Cards (2)

    • Role of ATP in muscle contraction

      1. ATP binds to myosin head, allowing myosin to detach from actin
      2. ATP is hydrolysed to ADP + Pi
      3. Causes myosin head to change shape, so it can return to its upright position
    • ATP's role is to bind to myosin and become hydrolysed
