• Sternocleidomastoid

  • Origin - sternum, clavicle
  • Insertion- mastoid process
• Splenius

  • Origin - last 4 cervical vertebrae and upper thoracic vertebrae
  • Insertion- temporal bone, occipital bone ( nuchal line), and the upper cervical vertebrae
• Diaphragm

  • Origin - sternum, costal cartilage, and lumbar vertebrae
  • Insertion- central tendon
• Rectus Abdominis

  • Origin - pubic crest and symphysis pubis
  • Insertion - xiphoid process and inferior ribs
• Pectoralis major

  • Origin- upper: clavicle, lower: sternum and costal cartilage of ribs 1-6, abdominal: external oblique
  • Insertion- two heads unite within a common tendon and inserts on the lateral lip of the intertubercular groove
• Latissimus Dorsi

  • Origin- Lumbar, lower half of thoracic vertebrae, illiac crest and sacrum
  • Insertion- Its tendon inserts on the humerus on the intertubercular groove under pectoralis major's tendon
• Trapezius

  • Origin- Occipital bone ( nuchal line) and all of thoracic and cervical vertebrae
  • Insertion: scapular spine, acromion, and clavicle
• Deltoid

  • Origin- scapular spine, acromion, and clavicle
  • Insertion- deltoid tuberosity
• Teres Major

  • Origin - inferior lateral border of scapula
  • Insertion - medial lip of intertubercular groove
• Triceps Brachii

  • Origin- Lateral head - posterior aspect of humerus, long head- infraglenoid tubercle, medial head- posterior aspect of humerus, distal to the lateral head
  • Insertion - Olecranon of Ulna
• Brachioradialis

  • Origin- above the lateral epicondyle of humerus
  • Insertion- styloid process and radius
• Extensor Carpi radialis longus

  • Origin - above the lateral epicondyle of humerus
  • Insertion- base of second metacarpal
• Gluteus Maximus

  • Origin- Crest of Ilium, sacrum, coccyx
  • Insertion- posterior of greater trochanter and iliotibial tract
• Sartorius

  • Origin - Anterior superior iliac spine
  • Insertion - medial surface of tibia
• Adductor Longus

  • Origin - body of pubis
  • Insertion - Linea Aspera

  • Origin- anterior shaft of tibia
  • Insertion- medial cuneiform and base of first metatarsals

  • Origin- medial and lateral condyle of femur
  • Insertion- calcaneus

  • Origin- ribs, lumbar vertebrae, sacrum
  • Insertion- ribs, cervical vertebrae
