    Cards (5)

    • Diff Solutions

more particles of the solute are dissolved in a concentrated solution than on a dilute solution
    • Solubility

a solid that dissolves or doesn't dissolve in a solvent is soluble, (eg; salt in water) or insoluble (eg; iron fillings in water)

some soluble substances have a greater solubility than others such as sodium chloride and lead chloride
    • Saturated Solution

when no more solute will dissolve as the solvent has reached its limit
    • Temperature and solubility

most solutes dissolve more quickly/ easily in hotter water as the particles get more energy, so vibrate and move more.
as the temperature increases, the solubility of most solutes also increases.
    • Other Solvents

some solutes are dissolvable in other but not in water and vice versa, eg; nail polish doesn't dissolve in water but dissolves in nail polish remover.
