    • The theory is based on how we develop moral thinking of the idea that right and wrong through a series of levels growing up
    • At a preconvetional or pre moral level young people determine what is right and wrong through reward or punnishment
    • Where as an adult understand of right and wrong involve the understanding of moral principles and values
    • This suggested criminals have a lower level of moral understanding than everyone else
    • They might solely look at their actions of right or wrong in terms of right and wrong and not how it effects other
