    • All humans hove criminal tendencies as we grow we learn self control
      A child not brought up properly develops personality problems.
      We know very little about the mind only about the conscious

    • Tripartite personality
      A person who doesn't have a healthy balance are more likely to commit crimes
      If ID or SUPEREGO is overdeveloped they will crimes as they have no self control
      Strong SUPEREGO commits crime as they seek punishment
      A weak super ego means they have little to no remorse so they don't care and are more likely to commit crimes

      -present at birth operates on the pleasure principles, get what it wants ( selfish, animalistic urges)
      -satisfies is need at any cost, leads to anti social criminal behaviour
      SUPER EGO
      -develops at 2 years, work on the reality principle refusing conflict between ID and EGO (rational, sensible and control)

      -develops around 5 and works on moral principles responsible for guilt (conscious and morality)
      -struggle between super ego and Id
      -socialisation internalised right and wrong

    • Weakly developed super ego
      -feels less guild about antisocial actions and less inhabitation
      about acting on the IDs actions
      To harsh unforgiving superego
      -creates deep and craves punishment, to be released from these they may engage in compulsive repetitive offending in order to be punished
      A deviant super ego
      -a child is fully socialised but into a deviant moral code
      -a son may have a good relationship with his criminal father so internalised criminal values
