  • In Hajj season of the 11th year of prophethood, the prophet invited 6 people to Islam from Yathrib. They accepted Islam. And the year after that, 12 people came to the prophet and they took an oath at the hand of the prophet which is known as the pledge of Al Aqabah.
  • The terms of the pledges of Al Aqabah were that they would not worship anyone but Allah, would not steal, would not commit adultery, would not kill their children, would not commit slander and would always obey the prophet in every way.
  • In the 13th year of prophethood, 73 men and 2 women came from Yathrib and took an oath of allegiance to the prophet. This is known as the 2nd pledge of Al Aqabah.
  • In the 2nd pledge of Al Aqabah, the prophets uncle, Abbas warned the Yathribites of the risks of accepting Islam, but they said they were fully aware of the risks and accepted them.
