Aquatic plants have special structures that make them live in marine areas
The parts of a plant are leaves, stems, roots, flowers, and fruit
Flowers and Fruits
-Allow plants to reproduce
Leaves
-Capture the energy of sunlight
Stem
-Sends food and water to all parts of the plant
Roots
-Absorb water and nutrients from the soil
Plants need:
-Sunlight
-Water
-Fertilized soil
-Carbon dioxide
Photosynthesis
-The plants make food by:
carbon dioxide + water
=sugar and oxygen
The three types of roots:
-Fibrous
-Taproots
-Adventitious
Plant habitat is where plants live
Hot and Dry Areas is where Plants store water in their stems and leaves to survive the dry season
Agave has small, fleshy, thickleaves that dropoff during extremedryclimate. They're leaves have sharppoints that protect them from predators that eat them.
Dessert shrubs have small leaves, protective thorns, tiny branches, and widespread root system to help adapt in dry areas.
