LAS 8 - God's Call to Ezekiel

• Ezekiel was a priest who was among the first batch of Jewish Captives brought to Babylon.
• He was the first israelite leader after the last king and the first prophet whom God called outside of Canaan
• God called Ezekiel through a vision
• Ezekiel ate the scroll and found it to be sweet. This signified his acceptance of God's call and his obedience
• Ezekiel's book is probably the most difficult to understand because it speaks the vision and mystical experiences that beyond the understand of oridnary people
• Ezekiel acted out his prophecies to make clearer to the people
• To emphasize the length of Israel's captivity, he remained motionless on his side (Ezekiel 4: 1-4)
• He packed up and left his house to symbolize the exile (Ezekiel 12: 1-7)
