Ezekiel was a priest who was among the first batch of Jewish Captives brought to Babylon.
He was the first israelite leader after the last king and the first prophet whom God called outside of Canaan

Ezekiel's book is probably the most difficult to understand because it speaks the vision and mystical experiences that beyond the understand of oridnary people
