• Food does not travel through the liver or pancreas, but they are involved in digestion
• Bile is injected at the top of the small intestine to neutralize stomach acid and help break down lipids
• The salivary glands produce enzymes that breakdown larger molecules into smaller one
• Digestion is the breakdown of food from larger food molecules to smaller food molecules
