  • catabolic enzymes are exogonic as they release energy when they turn bigger molecules into smaller molecules
  • anabolic enzymes are endogonic as they recquire energy to turn smaller molecules into bigger molecules
  • enzymes denature when they get too far past their optimum temperature, the tertiary structure is lost and therefore the active site is lost.
  • irreversible inhibition means the inhibitor will not move
  • competitive inhibitors bind at the same place as substrate but do not react with it
  • if ph changes then the enzyme will be less effective than it would be at its optimum ph.
