Subject is being acted upon by something, uses helping verbs: is, am, was, were, etc. + participle of the verb, doer of the action may not be mentioned
Why use passive voice
To shift emphasis (person) (outcome), when there is unknown doer
Fact
A detail or statement that can be verified and proven, do not constantly change but can be proven false
Opinion
A judgment formed based on the facts that one has gathered
Belief
A conviction based on one's values, faith, or culture, do not change as easily because they are not based on facts or evidence
