Fight/flight is typically a male response to danger.
Recent research suggests women exhibit a ‘tend + befriend’ response to threat.
According to Taylor et al. (2000), women more likely to protect their offspring (tend) / seek social support (befriend) in response to stress, rather than fight/flee.
∴ Research is beta-biased and tells us little about stress responses in females
