      Points of concern about what is morally right
    • Informed consent
      An ethical principle requiring that research participants be told enough to enable them to choose whether they wish to participate.
    • Deception
      A trick: an attempt to make someone believe something that is not true
    • Protection from harm
      Participants should not be put through anything they wouldn't normally be expected to.
    • Privacy and Confidentiality
      Protect the privacy of the participant, generally by keeping all responses confidential.
    • BPS code of ethics

      - A quasi-legal document produced by the British Psychological Society (BPS) that instructs psychologists in the UK about what behaviour is and is not acceptable when dealing with participants.
      - It is built around four major principles: respect, competence, responsibility and integrity.
    • Debrief
      To explain the purposes and methods of a completed procedure to a participant
