Strengths

• P: One Strength of Asch's research is that there is evidence from other studies to support the effects of task difficulty on conformity.
• Lucas et al(2006) asked ppts to solve easy+ hard maths problems. Ppts were then given answers from 3 confederates. It was shown that ppts conformed more often when the maths problems are hard.
• Asch was valid in claiming task difficulty as one variable that affects conformity.
