CELL STRUCTURE

• The vacuole is a fluid filled sac that stores cell sap and helps maintain the cell's shape.
• The cell wall helps to give the cell a definite shape.
• The cell membrane is a selectively permeable barrier that controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
• Chloroplast absorbs light energy from the sun for photosynthesis.
• A cell with a nucleus, cell wall, no chloroplast and a large surface area for absorption is the root hair cell.
• If a cell is specialised, it means that it has adapted to carry out a specific function.
