Philosophy came from the word philos and sophia meaning love of wisdom.
Philosophy originated from Miletus, Greece.
There are five branches of Philosophy; Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Politics, and Aesthetics.
Metaphysics answers the question, "Where am I?" It is the nature of reality, existence, universe, time, and space.
Aristotle's Metaphysics answers the following questions;
What is existence and what sort of things exist in the world?
How can things continue to exist and yet undergo the change we see about us?
How can this world be understood?
Epistemology answers the question, "How do I know?" It is the nature and means of human knowledge.
Ethics answers the question, "What should I do?" It is moral principles and values. It explores ethical theories, ethical dilemma, and moral judgement.
Politics answers the question, "What is good for human beings?" It is the political systems, governance, justice, rights, and the role of the state.
Aesthetics answers the question, "What is beautiful?" It is the nature of beauty, art, and the principles underlying our appreciation and evaluation of artistic expressions.
