Reabsorption of Amino Acids

• All are re-absorbed, by a similar process to glucose; indirect active transport mechanism with Na^+/amino acid co-transport protein carriers in microvilli membranes of the PCT wall epithelium
• Amino acids by facilitated diffusion go from cells into intercellular spaces (via protein channels or carriers in lateral and basal surface membranes) then by simple diffusion into blood plasma
