      -paid on top of a normal wage or salary
      -usually given as a percentage of a sale or a specified amount of money per sale
    • promotions:
      -provided with a higher-ranking job and more responsibility
      -the employee earns a higher wage and receives more financial benefits
      -makes employees feel valued
    • fringe benefits:
      -additional employment perks awarded to employees
      -ways of saving employees money rather than providing them with additional money
      -e.g free memberships, company car, company mobile phone, free holidays, additional holiday allowance, free parking/transport and free food/drink

      -large amounts of variety in day to day roles
      -first type = different job roles in the business
      -second type = different duties within their role
    • job enrichment:
      -providing a wider range of tasks for them to complete during the working day
      -giving employees more responsibility

      -the degree to which employees are able to make decisions about their day-to-day roles
      -employees feel more trusted and valued by their employer with higher levels of autonomy
