    • There are three cognitive characteristics: Absolutist thinking, poor concentration, or dwelling on negative thoughts
    • Individuals with depression may display absolutist, strict thinking - this leads them to interpret situations as all-good or all-bad, in their thinking they tend to be extreme
    • Depressives often display poor concentration and have difficulties sticking to tasks.
    • Lastly, individuals with depression are known to dwell on negative aspects of life and have a bias towards recalling unhappy events
